Breaking the DRR Financing Silos: A Systemic Shift in DRR Financing for Localization of Inclusive Resilience
Risk-profiling current and future investments requires a coherent approach across all levels. This applies to both public and private sectors, ensuring broad stakeholder engagement and generating innovation to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of investments. It has to be driven by the call to encourage financial authorities to integrate risk reduction into their work and provide support to developing countries.
This session will focus on improving means of financial resources, and partnerships to assist developing countries in implementing the Sendai Framework, advocate in increasing the Official Development Assistance and de-risk investments. The session discusses ways to break the status quo of investing less in reducing risk while the majority is invested in creating risks.
