Plenary 1: Taking Stock of Current Recovery Practices
This first plenary session will set the stage for the conference by assessing the current state of recovery preparedness, highlighting gaps in governance, financing, and implementation, and showcasing successful approaches that have led to more effective and resilient recovery outcomes. It will bring together high-level representatives to share their experiences, discuss opportunities for scaling up recovery readiness, and outline key priorities for accelerating progress.
The discussions will provide a strategic foundation for the conference’s technical sessions, ensuring that actionable solutions emerge to advance Priority 4 of the Sendai Framework and strengthen global recovery systems in an era of increasing disaster risk.
Session objectives:
- Assess the landscape of recovery readiness, examining progress, gaps, persistent challenges, and areas needing urgent attention.
- Identify good practices, successful approaches and solutions for resilient recovery.
