Scaling-up local voices and local actions for disaster risk reduction

This session will provide a platform during GP2025 for the NGO and CSO stakeholder groups to come together in sharing the community voices and devise a plan for joining voices to advocate for better collaboration and inclusion of civil society in decision-making. The session outcomes were set around developing joint advocacy messages to achieve a more systematic collaboration between governments and civil society in the design and implementation of national and local DRR strategies.

The session will provide an open space for civil society members and partners to come together and agree on a joint strategy for achieving higher visibility and more successful results in our advocacy at the GP2025. It would be a space for NGOs and CSOs to understand the progress on community-led risk reduction and advocate for the key actions needed at the local level to accelerate the findings of the Mid-Term Review of Sendai Framework.
