TS1-3: Development and adoption of technologies to accelerate disaster risk reduction

The Sendai Framework and its Midterm Review confirmed the value of science and technology in improving opportunities for non-linear sustainable development pathways. Given that we are off-track on achieving the Sendai Framework Targets by 2030, science and technology can play a crucial role in guiding course corrections and helping to leapfrog progress towards achieving Sendai Framework targets and the SDGs. This technical session will explore the opportunities, obstacles, reasons for hope and important considerations to harness cutting-edge technology to reduce disaster risk.
