GP2025 Closing Ceremony
The Closing Ceremony of the eighth session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2025), convened by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and hosted by the Government of Switzerland, will mark the conclusion of an intensive week of dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration. Building on the collective energy and insights gathered over the last days, the ceremony will reflect on the key outcomes of GP2025 and chart the way forward for global, regional, and national efforts to reduce disaster risk.
As the global forum for monitoring and advancing the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030, GP2025 has provided a critical space for governments, the UN system, the private sector, civil society, and communities to assess progress, identify gaps, and make actionable recommendations. The Closing Ceremony will highlight how these outcomes contribute to broader global policy processes — including the political commitments at GP, climate negotiations, and the advancement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
