TS2-3: Localizing the Sendai Framework: Investing in DRR for inclusive urban resilience

This session will explore the opportunities in strengthening urban resilience through locally led DRR initiatives. It will showcase what success looks like when empowered local governments and communities assess risks and develop context-specific solutions. The session is also expected to make specific recommendations around localized capacity-building, decentralized financing and understanding emerging risks in urban settings to scale up local DRR efforts and “course-correct” the implementation of the Sendai Framework in urban contexts.
