UNDRR is glad to announce that the Information Note for Participants (INP) for the seventh session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2022) is now available in the six official languages of the United Nations.
On 17 November 2021, the Government of Republic of Kenya officially opened the 8th Africa Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction as the host country. This key event on disaster risk reduction is convened at a critical time in a context where Africa is facing increasing challenges from disaster risks aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change.
8 November 2021 – Under the theme “From Risk to Resilience: Accelerating Local Action for Disaster Risk Reduction,” the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, Regional Office for Arab States (UNDRR ROAS), the Kingdom of Morocco, and the League of Arab States launched the Fifth Arab Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, a ministerial-level conference The platform is organized virtually and hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco.
