GP2022: Side event applications are open
The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) is glad to announce that the application for Side Events of the seventh session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2022) is now open!
The GP2022 Side Events will provide an opportunity to discuss ideas in disaster risk reduction within the global disaster risk reduction community. Side Events expand the range of topics and projects discussed at the GP2022 beyond those presented in the main sessions. The Side Events take place in connection with the GP2022 Official Days, on 25-27 May 2022. A total of 16 side events slots are available.
The application process for the Side Events opens on 4 January 2022 and closes on 31 January 2022. Applications are submitted through an online form available on the GP2022 “Apply for an event” webpage throughout the application period.
Interested organizations from government, inter-governmental organizations, Civil Society, Private Sector and other stakeholder groups are invited to express their interest in organizing side events during the GP2022. More information is in the application guidelines available on the GP2022 website.
The main theme of GP2022 is “From Risk to Resilience: Towards Sustainable Development for All in a COVID-19 Transformed World”. The GP2022 is organized and convened by UNDRR and will take place from 23 to 28 May 2022, in Bali, Indonesia. The event will be co-chaired by the Government of Indonesia and UNDRR. Taking place in the new normal setting, the GP2022 is an inclusive event, with possibilities for broad and diverse participation.
