The Sendai Framework underlines the shared responsibility of stakeholders including local government, the private sector, academia and civil society.

Upon request by the UN General Assembly resolution, UNDRR operates the “Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments online platform” (https://sendaicommitments.undrr.org) as a mechanism to mobilize, monitor and take stock of voluntary commitments (VC) from stakeholders for the implementation of the Sendai Framework.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform is a useful tool to know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework. In particular, it serves to incentivize stakeholders to inform the public about their work, identify crossovers with others in the field and find potential partners to collaborate and maximize impact. In addition, stakeholders have the opportunity to be highlighted as a good practice. By using the SFVC online platform, UNDRR can monitor and take stock of the progress and achievements by stakeholders
