The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction is a three-day event, comprising an Official Programme as well as an Informal Programme. The two Preparatory Days before the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction provide a platform for partners and stakeholders to organize preparatory events in the lead up to the Official Programme.

Ministerial Roundtables
Ministerial Roundtables provide an opportunity to share experiences, identify solutions and enhance political leadership and commitments for the implementation of the Sendai Framework. Roundtables are organized by invitation only at the ministerial level. More information on the process and format of participating in the Ministerial Roundtables will be separately communicated to Member States through official channels.
High-Level Dialogues
The High-Level Dialogues present an opportunity for representatives from Governments, Stakeholder Groups and International Organizations to share experiences and discuss strategies for accelerating the implementation of the Sendai Framework.
Thematic Sessions
The Thematic Sessions gather senior representatives and experts from government, technical and scientific institutions, UN partners, civil society, the private sector and other stakeholder groups for an interactive and substantive discussions on required measures to accelerate the implementation of key aspects of disaster risk reduction. These sessions share good practices and offer concrete recommendations and actionable suggestions to policy makers and partners.
Special Sessions
Special sessions are part of the official programme dedicated to key priority topics. These sessions focus on implementing the Sendai GAP for gender-responsive disaster risk reduction and providing technical assistance and financing for loss and damage.
Multi-stakeholder Plenaries
The Multi-stakeholder Plenaries form a central part of the discussion at the Global Platform 2025. It will be guided by a series of questions related to the stocktaking of progress achieved and exploration of recommendations to fill the gaps from the last Political declaration of the high-level meeting on the midterm review of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
