Accommodation 

The Host Country has selected several hotels close to the venue as the official hotels. A shuttle bus will operate on a fixed schedule between the conference venue and official hotels throughout the duration of the conference. .

ACCESS

Access to the conference centre

The Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre is located in the center of the Bali resort area, which provides excellent tourism infrastructure. The location is accessible by international flights and ground transport.

International access

The main point of international access to the island of Bali is the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali International Airport. It is served by both domestic and international airlines. Airline information is available at https://bali-airport.com/en/airline-information/index.

car
Domestic access

The island of Bali is well connected to most of Indonesia and has regular domestic flights connecting it to major cities within the country. It can also be accessed by road and by sea. Buses and taxis can be used to access the island.

parking
Local transport

It is easy to get around Bali by various modes of transportation. Buses and taxis are available in the main tourist locations. For more information, please refer to the Information Note for Participants.

The 2022 Global Platform for DRR: How the climate community became disaster risk reduction champions

The 2022 Global Platform for DRR brought together the DRR and climate communities around a concrete goal: finding solutions to scale up climate

Venue

The Official Programme of the Seventh Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction took place at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) from 25 to 27 May, while the Preparatory Day events took place at the Bali International Convention Centre (BICC) from 23 to 24 May in Bali, Indonesia.
Both conference facilities are located in the Nusa Dua area, about 10 kilometers away from the Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Shuttle services from the Airport to the official hotels were provided starting from Wednesday, 18 May. Shuttle services operated between the official hotels and the meeting venues starting from Saturday, 21 May. You can access the full schedule here.

Badge pick-up

Badging took place exclusively at the Bali International Convention Centre (BICC) and opened on Saturday 21 May. Participants may pick up their badges at the onsite registration desk upon presentation of a valid national passport or national ID card from a UN recognized country in Latin text, and their registration confirmation letter with the QR code. Photo badges had to be worn at all times. From 23 May, access to the badging area was only possible upon presentation of a negative COVID-19 antigen/PCR test as per COVID-19 protocol. The badging area was open as follows: 

  • Saturday 21 May: 08:00 - 17:00 
  • Sunday 22 May: 08:00 - 17:00 
  • Monday 23 May: 07:00 - 19:00 
  • Tuesday 24 May: 07:00 - 19:00 
  • Wednesday 25 May: 07:00 - 19:00 
  • Thursday 26 May: 08:00 - 17:00 
  • Friday 27 May: 08:00 - 12:00 

In order to reduce queue waiting times, participants were highly encouraged to pick up their conference badge prior to 23 May 2022.

Field Trips
 

In honor of the GP2022 taking place in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, the Host Government invited delegates and accompanying families to take part in the Host Government Field Trip Program on Saturday, May 28, 2022.

The program was designed to showcase the uniqueness and diversity of Indonesian culture and heritage. Field trip participants learned how Balinese people protect the environment and prevent environmental disasters.
