Conference Format
The seventh session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2022) took place as an in-person event from 23 to 28 May in Bali, Indonesia. The GP2022 nonetheless offered ample opportunities for online engagement in order to ensure wide-ranging participation during a challenging time.

How did people engage in GP2022 online?
Online engagement was available for registered remote participants through a virtual conference platform and webcast was broadly available.
How did the virtual conference platform work?
Our virtual “venue” is called Hopin. Hopin is a virtual conference platform with multiple interactive areas where participants can connect with one another and engage in live sessions.
Virtual participants were able to move in and out of the session rooms just like an in-person event and enjoy the content, interactive networking, and more.
While Hopin works also on mobile devices, for the best experience we recommended using a laptop or desktop computer and the latest version of Google Chrome, which can be downloaded here.
Interpretation
Simultaneous interpretation in all 6 UN languages was available throughout the GP2022 official sessions.

Public Interaction
Polls and Q&A happened in Slido.
