GP2022: Innovation platform and Ignite stage applications are open
The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) is glad to announce that application for the Innovation Platform and the Ignite Stage of the seventh session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2022) is now open.
The GP2022 Innovation Platform is a space for attracting and showcasing new and innovative approaches in disaster risk reduction (DRR), including those related to the use of new technology, awareness-raising or educational activities. The GP2022 Innovation Platform promotes a positive environment for interactivity and inclusiveness. The Innovation Platform is intended to make sharing experience and awareness-raising easy. The Innovation Platform will take place on a virtual platform and in a physical space in Bali, Indonesia.
The application process for the Innovation Platform opens on 15 December 2021 and closes on 23 January 2022. Applications are submitted through an online form available on the GP2022 “Apply for an event” webpage throughout the application period.
The GP2022 Ignite Stage will provide an opportunity to expose ideas and initiatives in disaster risk reduction to the global DRR community. Its objective is to complement and expand the range of topics and projects discussed at the GP beyond those presented in the main sessions and side events. Each of the selected participants will have an opportunity to speak for 15 minutes. The Ignite Stage will take place on a virtual platform and in a physical space in Bali, Indonesia.
The application process for Ignite Stage opens on 15 December 2021 and closes on 31 January 2022. Applications are submitted through an online form available on the GP2022 “Apply for an event” webpage throughout the application period.

GP 2022
The GP2022 will be organized and convened by UNDRR and will take place as an in-person event from 23 to 28 May 2022, in Bali, Indonesia. The event will be co-chaired by the Government of Indonesia and UNDRR. Taking place in the new normal setting, the GP2022 is an inclusive event, with possibilities for broad and diverse participation.
